The Why

Why Spay Neuter?

ADDRESSING THE PET OVERPOPULATION CRISIS

Despite the tireless efforts of animal shelters across the United States, an estimated 3 to 4 million unwanted pets are euthanized every year. Spaying and neutering — the surgical sterilization of pets — remains the most effective and straightforward solution to preventing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.

Dr. Wilcox has witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of pet overpopulation through her work alongside humane organizations and animal shelters. Tragically, pets in our own community are euthanized daily simply because there are not enough homes to accommodate them. Spaying and neutering is the answer — not the ongoing warehousing of animals without a sustainable solution.

Recognizing both the urgency of this issue and the need for accessible veterinary care, Dr. Wilcox established a freestanding facility dedicated exclusively to spay and neuter services. Her vision was to create a centrally located clinic in the valley that would offer affordable, high-quality care without compromise.

That vision is realized at Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic.

We are proud to consistently receive praise from satisfied clients, visiting veterinarians, and industry representatives alike, who commend our use of top-quality products, advanced in-house diagnostics, and our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of care.
